Born in Gdańsk, Poland. He studied management at the Gdańsk University in Sopot and graduated in marketing. But he discovered quickly that working as a manager was not his ideal way of life. He decided to take up traveling, photography and writing.

After finishing the photography school he worked for a year as a staff photographer for the leading Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza. But, in order to feel free to tell the stories that interested him he needed to become a freelance journalist. He spent one and a half years in London recording the lives of Poles moving en masse to the UK after Poland joined the European Union. During that time he published several assignments for Polish press.
After leaving London he traveled for almost a year through Asia visiting the post-soviet republics, China, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Upon returning to Europe he documented the life of Polish minorities in Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, France and the UK for the Polish Museum of Emigration in Gdynia.
He is a regular contributor to the oldest Polish geographic and travel magazine "Poznaj Świat" in print since 1947. He has published his photographs and articles in the National Geographic Traveler, monthly "Twój Styl", weekly "Polityka", and daily "Gazeta Wyborcza". He also works with the photo agency "Forum".
