Jim Banks, of Kasilof. Jim is a commercial fisherman, sled dog owner, avid outdoorsman and gun enthusiast. Among his hunting rifles and bear protection sidearms he also has a passion for muzzleloader rifles. / photo: Pawel Wyszomirski

David Thornton owns the Brown Bear Gun Shop and Museum in Kenai. While he defends the rights of American gun owners to have any type of gun they choose to own, he does not sell "black guns." / photo: Pawel Wyszomirski
